Happy New Year (a poem)

A new time to thrive.

A new time to be alive.

Life is meant to be good.

Life is meant to be as it should.

We are the pioneers of life.

We are the sufferers of strife.

Fighting for the soul is right.

So let us conquer the blight.

I have lived and I have died.

I have thrived and I have cried.

We have come this far now.

Let us take our sacred vow.

My Lord, I am ready to serve.

I am filled with worldly nerve.

There is really no need for fear.

So let us welcome the New Year!

Amen.
