I think philosophy as it is taught and practiced now is not the same search for objective truth that it once was; sadly, people are content with the little slice of truth that they have a claim to. Years ago, I talked to my philosophy mentor, who had a PhD focused on Kant, but it seemed that he never wanted to take risks with philosophy. He was simply content with the little share that he was specialized in. So, I thought, philosophy should be about bravery of expression and a constant curiosity for new meaning.
