Seeing Beyond the Surface
I do not know if we understand the extents of consciousness.
What one sees and hopes to see is clouded by misconceptions.
We see screens, which display a version of the truth, a narrative.
The real is hidden behind these narratives, in between the lines.
The biggest screen of all, which has no end, is our subjectivity.
The more we see, the more we imagine, the more we theorize.
We either accept the world, or we create false ideas about it.
In turn, there is no end to this process, and it gets maddening.
I say there is a world, but it is not meant to be taken literally.
Another day, another thought, another way to find oneself.
In the end, everything is empty, including reality itself.
We must keep striving until we can let go of striving.
Remember the Buddha’s words:
There is no mark of self,
No mark of others,
No mark of living beings,
And no mark of a life.
Thank you.
